Feng Shui Basics
Feng Shui is the Oriental study of energy flow in building design and room organization. In various forms, the study of feng shui dates back over three thousand years and is still extremely popular in Asia today. The earliest references describe the proper placement of tombs so that good health, abundance and harmony are conferred upon the descendants of those properly buried. But the practice of feng shui (which literally means "wind and water" in Chinese), soon developed beyond tomb placement to center around healthy movement of energy or life force (qi — pronounced “chee”).
Through centuries of careful observation and practice, Chinese feng shui masters developed a system of predicting problems and clarifying ways to correct those problems. Though specific systems vary in their approach, what follows is a set of practical tips that anyone can use.
